What are Acceptable Forms of ID?
It is the responsibility of the customer to prove that they are 21 years of age. The forms of ID acceptable in Rowan/Kannapolis ABC Stores include:
- A valid driver’s license
- A valid North Carolina State ID card (no other State ID cards are acceptable)
- A valid passport
- A valid U.S. Military ID
What are Acceptable Forms of payment?
All locations accept cash, debit, and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover).

Can I return or exchange after purchasing?
Once a product has left the store no returns or exchanges can be made unless the product is spoiled or not drinkable.
When do I need Transportation Permit?
In accordance with North Carolina ABC laws, a customer may only purchase up to eight (8) liters of alcohol (distilled spirits) from our stores without a transportation permit. With a transportation permit, the customer may purchase up to forty (40) liters of alcohol and subsequently transport their purchase within the State of North Carolina. A transportation permit is issued free of charge at the store, and is valid until 9:30 p.m. on the date it is issued.

How can I get boxes?
When boxes are available, they are free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at each of our locations. Availability is based on each store’s delivery and re-stocking schedule.
